It may only be mid-July, but it’s already time to begin planning our journey South for the winter.
Our potential winter charter stops include Annapolis, MD; Norfolk, VA; Charleston, SC; and West Palm Beach, FL.
Traveling between these destinations will take us along a mix of offshore and inshore routes—via both the Atlantic Ocean and the scenic Intracoastal Waterway (ICW).
Looking further afield, we’re also considering a return to the Bahamas, where we are fully licensed to bring guests aboard. Our spring trip to the Bahamas was fantastic—though far too short—and left us wanting more.
Staying stateside, we’re also eyeing the Florida Keys and Key West as exciting charter possibilities. We’re open to welcoming both passengers and sailing students aboard, whether for charters within these destinations or passages between them.
Of course, part of our planning includes tracking hurricane season, which may impact certain destinations and lead us to postpone visits to some locations until future years.
We’ll be bringing Our Passion south, and may also take on delivery work—transporting other vessels to southern ports. We’re also open to captaining larger yachts for clients looking for a luxury experience beyond what Our Passion offers.
This winter may also present opportunities to accrue sea time on larger vessels as we pursue the next level of licensing. This could include crewing aboard yachts over 100 gross tons, further aligning with our long-term professional goals.
Whatever the winter brings, we’ll remain grounded in our mission and our values. We hope to spend more time with family than we did last year, while continuing to share our love of the sea with new guests and friends along the way.If you or someone you know is interested in chartering a boat and hiring us to captain it—whether for a week, a month, or more—feel free to reach out anytime at 508-456-SAIL (7245) or sailingourpassion@gmail.com.
